摘要：An order entry system is described which displays items together with visual attributes that correspond to respective alerts. The visual attributes provide pre-selection guidance to a user in choosing from among the items without deluging the user with a cumbersome series of post-selection alerts. In one illustrative case, the items that are displayed correspond to drug-related items. In this case, one purpose of the order-entry system is to prescribe drug-related items to a patient.
