摘要：<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for detecting bladder cancer using the expression of an HURP (hepatoma up-regulated protein) gene as a marker. <P>SOLUTION: The HURP gene serves as a molecular marker in detection, preliminary screening and monitoring of the bladder cancer in a human subject. The method comprises detecting the bladder cancer, especially TCC (transitional cell carcinoma) of the bladder in the human subject. The expression of the human HURP gene detected in a sample collected from the subject suspected to have the bladder cancer is indicative of the presence of the bladder cancer.
