SOLUTION: The multi-domain liquid crystal display device including: first and second substrates 100, 110 facing each other; gate and data lines 111, 112 crossing each other formed on the first substrate 100 to thereby define a pixel region; a pixel electrode 113 formed in the pixel region of the first substrate 100; a groove 115 having a prescribed width and depth formed in the surface of the second substrate 110; a common electrode 122 formed in the second substrate 110 having a prescribed step coverage generated by the surface of the second substrate 110 and the groove 115; and a liquid crystal layer 130 formed between the first and the second substrates 100, 110, is constructed.
