摘要:PURPOSE: A method for performing an FA(Frequency Assignment) in a mobile communication system is provided to set threshold values of spare resources, respectively, in consideration of the spare resources of 2G(Generation) FA and the spare resources of 3G FA, thereby performing FA for other generation when spare resources do not exist. CONSTITUTION: When a system recognizes receiving/originating calls(S201), the system confirms whether the receiving/originating calls are for 2G or 3G FA(S202). If for the 2G FA, the system compares a spare resource of the 2G FA with a set threshold value(S203). If the spare resource is more than the threshold value, the system performs the 2G FA(S204). If the spare resource is less than the threshold value, the system checks whether the 3G FA is capable(S205). If the 3G FA is more than N times than the spare resource of the 2G FA, the system assigns a spare resource to the 3G FA(S210). If the 3G FA is less than N times, the system performs FA having more spare resources(S206).
