摘要:Fuel efficiency in a combustion engine is increased by treating the fuel in a reaction chamber prior to delivering the fuel into the combustion chamber of the engine. The method includes the step of entraining a stream of exhaust gas to travel upstream through the reactor chamber in a first flow pattern. The method also includes the step of entraining a stream of fuel to travel downstream through the reactor chamber in a second flow pattern, where at least one of the first and second flow patterns comprises a structured turbulent flow.

A system for an engine that combusts a fuel carried by a fuel stream to produce power and an exhaust stream, the system comprising: a first housing that entrains a first stream of a first type; and a second housing that entrains a second stream of a second type and that is disposed within the first housing, wherein the second housing encloses an inner wall with surface features that are substantially large enough to be identified by naked eyes, and comprise a pattern of features selected from a group consisting of bumps, dimples, cavities, ridges, grooves, and wedges, wherein the enclosure of the second housing comprises pores large enough to enable at least a portion of the first stream to travel into the second housing.
