摘要:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the desired uniformity inside an image pickup space by means of an RF coil system for open type magnetic resonance imaging and to cause the desired sensitivity drop outside the image pickup space. SOLUTION: A first and a second orthogonal (quadrature) RF coil sets 36, 38 are provided which are positioned on the opposite sides of an image pickup space. Each quadrature RF coil includes pluralities of first and second main path conductor segments provided in symmetry and at a predetermined distance with respect to a centerline, and first and second return path conductors 104, 116, 106, 118. The first and second main path conductor segments are positioned within a first plane 84 substantially spaced apart from a second plane 114, and the second plane is spaced apart from the image pickup space and contains the first and second return path conductors. The internal conductors of each of the first and second pairs of main path conductor segments have a predetermined ratio of current magnitude.
