摘要：In prodn. of a dog chew from hide flour, the hide flour is mixed with a binder and water, and shaped to a chew, which is dried and baked. 100 Pts.wt. of ground hide is mixed with 100 pts. water and emulsified. 10 Pts.wt. of water is mixed with 4 pt. of gelatine, and the hide/water mixt. is mixed with 5 wt.% of the gelatine mixt. in a cutting machine, opt. with addn. of 4 wt.% of iodised salt during the cutting. After the cutting, the mixt. is stirred to cause bonding. The mixt. is shaped, and the moist chew is dried for 3 hrs. at 30 deg.C and 50% RH, followed by baking for a few mins. at high temp. (5 mins. at 180 deg.C), and then heating at below 60 deg.C in an oven. After baking, the shapes may be dried again. ADVANTAGE - The prod. is strong and consistent, and suitable for use as a chew-toy. The hide flour, obtd. by grinding hide waste, is more easily processed than pieces of hide waste.
