摘要：Device to provide added support, protection and movement restriction for an ostomy bag measuring less than 30 cm in height attached to a stoma, consisting of a circular extensible fabric band, soft on the skin, with no fasteners, reinforced by two broad elastic ribbons attached at the upper and lower extremities of the device to provide comfort and support of an ostomy bag and also hiding the stoma view. The protective ostomy belt prevents the dangling, kinking and accidental disconnection of the bag and the compression of the bag when the wearer bends at the hips. Th e device fits under the waistline to allow the ostomate to wear undergarments and garments having tightly fitting waist bands, it also hides the ostomy bag and the stoma. The protective ostomy belt increases the ostomate's mobility, improves his or her self confidence by preventing spillage by an accidental disconnection or an accidental bag opening and improves human sexual activities by hiding the view of the ostomy bag and th e stoma and, thus, improves the ostomate's self confidence and quality of life.
