摘要:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical module that has light shielding and optical device protecting function and that excels in reliability in confirming a connecting condition from the outside. SOLUTION: The optical module includes: a protective block 52 that is housed freely movably in the inserting direction of an optical plug inside the opening part 42b of an optical module body 40, that shields a light introducing hole 41b in non-connection time of the optical plug, and that moves to a position for releasing the light introducing hole 41b by being pushed by the optical plug in connection time; a return spring 53 that returns the protective block 52 to the position for shielding the light introducing hole 41b in non-connection time of the optical plug; a positioning pin 54 that is inserted and positioned in a positioning hole 42f formed on the surface of the optical module body 40 and mounted in a manner freely in and out and that has one end projected outside the optical module body 40; and a spring 55 for energizing the positioning pin 54. The positioning pin 54 is inserted in the positioning hole of the optical plug in the connection time of the optical plug, fixedly pressurizing the protective block 52 in the non-connection time.
