摘要：<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ball for a ballpoint pen which is made of a silicon carbide ceramic and made to have excellent slidability in relation with a ball seat part, reduces abrasion of this part and is excellent in persistence of a writing performance. <P>SOLUTION: The ball is constituted of the silicon carbide ceramic which is constituted mainly of silicon carbide and contains free carbon.
