摘要:A process for the tetramerisation of ethylene under solution phase conditions is carried out in the presence of an activated catalyst at a temperature above 80° C. and up to a temperature of about 130° C. The activated catalyst is provided by combining a source of chromium, a ligating compound, which ligating compound includes at least one fluorine substituted hydrocarbyl group, organoheteryl group, or heterohydrocarbyl group, and optionally a catalyst activator or combination of catalyst activators.

A process for the tetramerisation of ethylene, the process including: (a) providing an activated catalyst comprising: i) a source of chromium;ii) a ligating compound of the formula R1R2P1XP2R3R4 wherein P1 and P2 are phosphorus atoms;X is a linking group between P1 and P2; andR1 to R4 are independently a hydrocarbyl group, an organoheteryl group or a heterohydrocarbyl group, wherein at least one of R1, R2, R3, and R4 contains a fluorine substituent; andiii) optionally a catalyst activator or combination of catalyst activators; and (b) contacting ethylene to be tetramerised with the activated catalyst at a reaction temperature of from above 80° C. to about 130° C.
