摘要：PURPOSE:To obtain a lens material whose composition and performance vary continuously starting with its center toward its periphery, by prepolymerizing at least either of first and second polymerizable components, freezing at least either of these components and polymerizing them by contacting and thawing. CONSTITUTION:A first polymerizable component comprising monomers which can give a polymer having a first property and a second polymerizable component comprising monomers which can give a polymer having a second property are polymerized together in the following way. At least either of the above first and second polymerizable components is prepolymerized into a prepolymer, and at least either of the prepolymerized and unprepolymerized first and second polymerizable components is frozen into a solid of a predetermined shape. While the frozen solid is being thawed in a state in which this solid is kept in contact with said unfrozen polymerizable component, these components are polymerized together to obtain the purpose lens material.
