摘要：PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a perpendicular recording medium that has recording and playback characteristics with excellent SNR.SOLUTION: In a perpendicular recording medium having a foundation layer and a perpendicular recording layer over a non-magnetic substrate, the perpendicular recording layer comprises a perpendicular magnetic layer containing Co and Pt or Fe and Pt and a granular-structured dielectric magnetic layer having both magnetic and dielectric characteristics. The dielectric magnetic layer contains grains having both magnetic and dielectric characteristics and grain boundary constituting substance arranged on the grain boundary of the grains having both magnetic and dielectric characteristics, and the grain boundary constituting substance is one or more kinds of materials selected from oxides, nitrides and carbonic substances.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
