摘要：The present invention relates to a ceramic body and a method for producing the ceramic body. The ceramic body contains Al2O3 as the main crystal phase, additionally contains only a MnTiO3 crystal phase, and has a specific gravity of more than 3.6. Preferably, the ceramic body has bending strength of 600 MPa or more and has been sintered at a temperature of 1200 to 1400°C. The ceramic body contains Al in an amount of 85.0 to 95.0 mass% in terms of Al2O3 content, Mg in an amount of 0.1 to 0.6 mass% in terms of MgO content, Si in an amount of 2.0 to 6.0 mass% in terms of SiO2 content, Mn in an amount of 2.4 to 7.1 mass% in terms of MnCO3 content, and Ti in an amount of 0.1 to 2.0 mass% in terms of TiO2 content.
