摘要：Provided are an apparatus and a method for continuously producing a cyclic carbonate economically advantageously and with high industrial productivity, whereby it becomes possible to produce the cyclic carbonate without requiring the use of a large-size reactor or an oversize ancillary facility, to scale-up the production of the cyclic carbonate readily and to produce the cyclic carbonate without deteriorating the expected efficiency or lifetime of a catalyst even when the cyclic carbonate is to be produced on an industrial scale using an immobilized catalyst as the catalyst. The apparatus is equipped with: a heat-insulating reactor in which a heterogeneous catalyst for allowing an epoxide to react with carbon dioxide is filled; a circulating passage through which at least a portion of a liquid-form fluid mixture flowing out from a discharge port of the reactor is returned to the reactor; a carbon dioxide supply means for continuously supplying carbon dioxide in a liquid form or in a supercritical state into the circulating passage; and an epoxide supply means for continuously supplying an epoxide in a liquid form or in the form of a solution into the circulating passage.
