摘要:通常,聚碳酸酯的聚合受限于能够从反应中除去抑制性的副产物如苯酚和水杨酸酯的速率。当聚合进行时,为了促进从反应中除去挥发性反应副产物,本发明提供了喷雾反应器(90)。喷雾聚合反应(90)的形成能够产生巨大的表面积,用于挥发性副产物的交换。本发明适用于从单体或低聚物(25)开始的聚碳酸酯和其共聚物的聚合。对于给定的熔融过程,尤其是快速反应二(甲基水杨酸酯)碳酸酯过程来说,本发明可以用于增加产量并最小化初期投资。

主权项:制备高分子量聚碳酸酯的设备,包括:(a)一种装置,其使包括至少一种酯取代的碳酸二芳酯和至少一种二羟基芳族化合物的单体(25)熔融(30),并与至少一种熔融聚合催化剂混合,生成预聚合反应混合物;(b)由预聚反应混合物形成预定液滴大小的雾(90)的装置(80);(c)反应器(60),其在减压下,将雾(90)暴露于200 400℃的高温环境中以使所述单体聚合(100),并且从所述液滴中分离至少一种挥发性反应副产物的至少一部分;(d)从液滴中除去至少一部分所述挥发性副产物的排气口(120);和(e)从反应器中收集聚合的聚碳酸酯产物的装置(160)。
