摘要：An electronic device comprises a display screen and a data input system for improved data input on small screen sizes. Instead of displaying virtual keyboard that may hide significant portions of the screen, the electronic device generates a user interface operable to display some data content and to detect a positions of an object, e.g. a finger, on the display screen of the device. If the finger moves in a first direction, the display screen modifies the data content based on a group of data choices. If the finger moves in a second direction, the controller stores, into a memory, the data content currently being displayed on the display screen.
