摘要:An energy management system that facilitates the transfer of high frequency energy induced on an implanted lead or a leadwire includes an energy dissipating surface associated with the implanted lead or the leadwire and at least one non-linear circuit element switch for diverting energy in the implanted lead or the leadwire to the energy dissipating surface. In alternate configurations, the switch may be disposed so that it electrically opens the implanted lead or the leadwire when diverting energy to the energy dissipating surface. The non-linear circuit element switch is typically a PIN diode.

An active implantable medical device (AIMD), comprising: a) a thermally or electrically conductive AIMD housing containing tissue-stimulating or biological-sensing circuits for the AIMD; b) a first conductive leadwire having a distal first leadwire end that is configured to be connectable to an implantable lead, and a proximal first leadwire end connected to the tissue-stimulating or biological sensing circuits inside the AIMD housing; c) a second internal conductive leadwire having a proximal second leadwire end electrically coupled to the first leadwire at a node located inside the AIMD housing between the proximal and distal first leadwire ends, and a distal second leadwire end electrically coupled to the AIMD housing; d) a first switch electrically coupled in series along the second internal leadwire somewhere between the proximal second internal leadwire end at the node and the distal second internal leadwire end at the AIMD housing; and e) a second switch electrically coupled in series along the first leadwire between the node at the proximal second internal leadwire end and the proximal first leadwire end.
