摘要：PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and correctly input (set) lens information peculiar to a lens unit in a camera body in a short time.SOLUTION: A camera photographs an objective side of a lens unit and image data is transmitted to a lens information server (steps 43, 44). A lens information server recognizes a character string printed on the objective side of the lens unit in response to an image of the objective side of the lens unit (step 62). Lens information corresponding to the recognized character string stored in a database is retrieved in accordance with the recognized character string (step 63). The lens information detected by retrieval is transmitted to the camera from the lens information server and is stored in the camera (step 66, 48).
