摘要：<p><PICT:0582624/III/1> In the dehydrogenation of hydrocarbons by means of a finely divided catalyst the reactants while at temperature (e.g., 50-500 DEG F.) below the reaction temperature are mixed with a controlled amount of catalyst at a higher temperature (e.g., 1050-1400 DEG F.) to heat them to reaction temperature (e.g., 900-1150 DEG F.). The reaction products are separated from the catalyst and the latter may be regenerated and used again. Any excess of heat in the regenerated catalyst may be removed by cooling a part of it and recycling to the regenerator, and any deficiency may be made up by introducing a fuel into the regeneration zone. In the illustrated apparatus the preheated feed in pipe 8 is mixed with hot catalyst supplied through pipe 9 from regenerator 51, and passed into reactor 13. The reaction products after passing through a cyclone 22 are cooled and scrubbed with oil in a tower 25. The scrubbing oil is recycled and undergoes heat exchange with the feed in cooler 4. A portion of it is passed through a filter 38, and the catalyst so recovered is returned to the reactor by line 43. Spent catalyst is continually withdrawn from the reactor through line 46, suspended in air and passed into regenerator 51. The regenerated catalyst is returned to the reactor by line 9, but a portion may be passed through cooler 67 and returned to the regenerator. Specifications 558,879 and 570,142 are referred to.</p>
