摘要：Nitric acid esters of aliphatic alcohols are manufactured by introducing the nitrating acid into an injector under pressure, the alcohol and a non-reactive gas, in an amount from 5 to 30% by volume based on the total volume of liquid supplied to the injector, being drawn simultaneously by suction into the injector under such conditions that, in addition to immediate mixing and conversion of the reaction components substantially completely within the injector, gas dispersion and emulsifying takes place with formation of a stable non-explosive emulsion of the reaction products, which is then rapidly moved through a closed conduit to a separator house remote from the nitrating apparatus where the nitric ester produced is separated from the spent acid in a centrifugal separator. Cooling may be applied immediately after the emulsion has left the injector. The process is exemplified with reference to the production of nitroglycerine with the use of air as the added gas.
