摘要:<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a practical method and device which effectively reduce the impurity content of an argon gas at a low cost, at a pretreatment stage for adsorption processing, to reduce a load on the adsorption processing, and also reduce energy required for refinement to refine a recovered argon gas at a high purity. <P>SOLUTION: When an argon gas which contains, as impurities, at least oxygen, hydrogen, carbon monoxide and nitrogen is recovered and refined, the argon gas is made to contact a metal oxide catalyst to make the hydrogen and carbon monoxide react with the metal oxide catalyst, and water, carbon dioxide and the metal are generated, and then the metal thus generated is made to react with the oxygen to regenerate the metal oxide catalyst. Then, the generated carbon dioxide and water are adsorbed, together with the nitrogen, on an adsorbent by means of a pressure swing adsorption method. Then, the nitrogen which is not adsorbed by the pressure swing adsorption method is adsorbed on an adsorbent at -10 to -50&deg;C by means of a thermal swing adsorption method. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
