摘要：PURPOSE: A dummy tunnel duct for damping pressure fluctuation in a tunnel and a method of installing the same are provided to damp great fluctuation in pressure in a tunnel by offsetting the properties of each pressure wave by overlapping compression wave and expansion wave when a vehicle enters the tunnel. CONSTITUTION: A method of installing a dummy tunnel duct for damping pressure fluctuation in a tunnel is as follows. Under the conditions of a given vehicle length(Ltr) and the maximum running speed(Vmax), a second compression overlaps with a first expansion wave on a critical tunnel length(Lcr). The second compression wave is generated in a manner that a compression wave occurring when the head of the vehicle enters a tunnel(2), is reflected as an expansion wave on the exit, is propagated to the entrance of the tunnel and is again reflected from the entrance of the tunnel.
