摘要：PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for simply and efficiently separating an endo-isomer and exo-isomer of carboxylic acid anhydride from a mixture containing an endo-isomer and exo-isomer of carboxylic acid anhydride having a norbornene or norbornane structure and to take out each form in a high isomer purity, respectively. SOLUTION: The method for separating an endo-isomer and exo-isomer of carboxylic acid anhydride includes (A) a step for preparing a mixture containing at least either one of a carboxylic acid anhydride containing a norbornene structure and a carboxylic acid anhydride containing a norbornane structure in which an endo-isomer and exo-isomer of carboxylic acid anhydride coexist, (B) a step for forming hydrates of an endo-isomer and exo-isomer of carboxylic acid anhydride by a hydration reaction between the mixture and water, (C) a step for adding at least either one of an organic solvent and an aqueous solution of inorganic salt to the hydrates, (D) a step for separating the hydrate of the exo-isomer as a precipitate from an extraction solvent and (E) a step for ring-closing the hydrate of the exo-isomer separated by the step (D) and the hydrate of the endo-isomer obtained from the extraction solvent after separation of the hydrate of the exo-isomer.
