摘要：PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact member gripping device and a member carrying device, and to obtain high gripping accuracy.SOLUTION: A plurality of meshing chain type expansion devices 42 are arranged in the circumferential direction of an annular base 40. The meshing chain type expansion devices 42 have a pair of meshing chains 58, are meshed with each other immediately after deviation drive from the circumferential direction into a radial direction to move toward a center shaft of an annular plate 44 integrally under an independent condition, and are disengaged from each other and branched during deviation drive from the radial direction into the circumferential direction of the annular plate 44. A pad 74 contacting an annular member 82 is provided at an end of the meshing chain 58. Each meshing chain type expansion device 42 is synchronously driven by rotation of a power transmission chain 78, and all of the meshing chains 58 are moved in the same radial direction of the annular base 40. A link is not used for a power transmission system, and therefore, high gripping accuracy can be obtained. The branched meshing chain 58 is housed in a chain housing part 70 arranged in the circumferential direction, and therefore, the device can be made compact without enlarging a diameter.
