SOLUTION: A colorant supply device 5 includes a colorant storage part 41 configured to store colorant particles 4, and a colorant ejection part 42 having an ejection port 42a, formed to have 50 to 100μm width, for ejecting the colorant particles 4 to an image carrier 1. The colorant ejection part 42 has an abutting part 42b abutting on the image carrier 1 on an upstream side of the ejection port 42a in a moving direction of the image carrier 1, and a gap forming part 42c separated from the image carrier 1 by a predetermined distance (gap) d1, for example, 1 mm, on a downstream side of the ejection port 42a in the moving direction of the image carrier 1. Therefore, the colorant particles 4 ejected from the ejection port 42a is stuck to a surface of the image carrier 1 in predetermined thickness, that is, the gap d1 by the gap forming part 42c.
