摘要：<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lens barrel which can normally operate a movable barrel again even when a retreat lens holding frame does not move to a predetermined position. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This lens barrel comprises a moving means 430 which moves in the shooting optical axis direction of the retreat lens holding frame 412 and moves between a shooting optical path and a retreat position. In the shooting state, the retreat lens holding frame 412 is positioned on the shooting optical path, and all lens groups are positioned on the shooting optical axis. In the storage state, the retreat lens holding frame 412 is moved to the retreat position, and at least one of the plurality of movable lens barrels is collapsed. Photointerrupters 310, 311 are provided to detect the position of the retreat lens holding frame 412. When the retreat lens holding frame 412 is not moved to a predetermined position, the position of the retreat lens holding frame 412 is determined on the basis of output signals of the photointerrupters 310, 311, and a predetermined recovery operation is performed on the retreat lens holding frame 412 on the basis of the position.
