摘要:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently detect a proper amplitude of an alternating current supplied to a charge member for charging an image carrier. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is set with 200 mm/s of image forming speed, changes sequentially a frequency of the alternating current Iac to 2,000 Hz, 1,000 Hz and 500 Hz, under the condition where the image forming speed is set to 200 mm/s, when acquiring a print indication of the frequency of the alternating current Iac of 2,000 Hz, and detects charge saturated points corresponding to the respective frequencies of the alternating current Iac, to be stored in a storage device. The image forming apparatus detects therein the charge saturated points in the three kinds of frequencies of the alternating current Iac, at three times of detection periods (three detection periods) of detecting the charge saturated points when the image forming speed is 200 mm/s and when the frequency of the alternating current Iac is 2,000 Hz, since the period of detecting the charge saturated point is synchronized with a rotation period of the image carrier.
