摘要：PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a scheme for effectively using search image data so that a user can immediately see contents recorded in a cassette tape with ease. SOLUTION: In an index image creating mode, a system data readout circuit 107 checks a time code of readout data read out from the cassette tape 102, and outputs instruction to an image compression circuit 109 regarding if the current search image data should be compressed and written in an index image data region 105c or not. After that, a JPEG encoder 111 is started, and the index image data in the index image data region 105c are JPEG-compressed, associated data such as a header is written in to create an index image file 105d, and the created index image file 105d and print setting information are sent to a printer 113 to execute printing.
