The transport device ( 33, 24 ) is adapted for transporting the strips. The splicer further comprises a splicing unit for splicing strips to each other along a splice line which splice line intersects the transport device at an angle alpha. The transport device comprises at least two transport means that are substantially parallel on to the other.
