摘要:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface mounting square electric storage cell that has high mounting area efficiency, can be miniaturized, and can increase capacity by solving problems wherein a mounting area loss is large and hence miniaturization and an increase in capacity are difficult for a surface mounting coin-shaped electric storage cell to be used for a portable device, or the like. SOLUTION: The surface mounting square electric storage cell comprises: a square element; square upper/lower metal cases 4, 5 storing the element with an electrolyte; a square sealing member 6 that is arranged on the outer-periphery surface of the upper metal case 4 and is compressed by the drawing of the lower metal case 5 for sealing; and a pair of positive and negative terminal plates 7, 8 joined to the upper/lower metal cases 4, 5. The electric storage cell 1 is covered with a packaging resin 9 squarely while step sections 7a, 8a provided on the terminal plates 7, 8 are exposed onto an outer surface, and the step sections 7a, 8a are bent, thus reducing the loss of the mounting area by providing the pair of positive and negative terminals on the mounting surface, and hence miniaturizing the cell and increasing its capacity.
