摘要：<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a knee air bag with a steering column capable of speedily expanding and deploying the knee air bag in a narrow clearance between the knee of an occupant and an instrument panel at a collision. <P>SOLUTION: The knee air bag 36 of a knee air bag device 10 for a vehicle is constituted of a first expanding part 38 to extend in the vehicle width direction along the side of an instrument panel 12 and a second expanding part 46 deployed to the knee side of the occupant. A gas supply port 42 to which gas blown out of an inflator 22 is supplied is set on the side of the first expanding part 38. A pair of protecting parts provided on right and left ends of the gas supplying port 42 and the knee air bag 36 are arranged roughly on the same straight line along the vehicle width direction, and the first expanding part 36 makes both the protecting parts communicate with each other as a gas channel. Consequently, it is possible to speedily expand and deploy the pair of the protecting parts in the clearance 48 even if the clearance between the instrument panel 12 and the knee of the occupant is small at a frontal collision. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
