摘要:<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology capable of inhibiting an increase in fuel consumption rate of an internal combustion engine as small as possible and carrying out EGR at a high EGR rate in an exhaust emission control system of the internal combustion engine using both a high pressure EGR device and a low pressure EGR device to perform the EGR. <P>SOLUTION: A ratio of an amount of exhaust gas recirculated by the high pressure EGR device and an amount of exhaust gas recirculated by the low pressure EGR device (a mixing ratio) are controlled based on the operation state of the internal combustion engine and a correlation between the fuel consumption rate of the internal combustion engine and the mixing ratio. As a result, high pressure EGR and low pressure EGR can be performed at a mixing ratio (optimum ratio) which reduces the fuel consumption rate to a minimum value or near the minimum value. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
