摘要：PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve bright image display by improving an aperture ratio of pixels in a vertical alignment type liquid crystal display apparatus. SOLUTION: A pixel electrode PX is divided by a plurality of oblique slits ST the longitudinal direction of which is inclined at an angle of about +45°in a direction of (A), from upper right to lower left in the figure. Sawtooth portions SRS are formed on the opposing sides of the slit ST. The (A) direction as the longitudinal direction of the slit ST having the sawtooth portions SES and the polarization axis AX1 of a lower polarizing plate make about 45°angle. Further, the polarizing axis AX2 of an upper polarizing plate is laid at about 45°with respect to the (A) direction as the longitudinal direction of the slit ST.
