摘要：PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a substituted polyacetylene the solubility and the shape of the absorption spectrum and/or emission spectrum of which can be changed by a controllable solvent without the need for using harmful chloroform, absorbs near infrared rays, is suitable for use in heat-shielding glass or the like, has an improved affinity with a highly polar surface and a solvent, is subjected to various polymer reactions and has controllable physical properites. SOLUTION: The polymer has a repeating unit expressed by the general formula. The number of repetition of the repeating unit is in the range of 10-10,000. The shape and the position of the peak of the absorption spectrum and/or emission spectrum are reversibly changed by stimulation or its change. In the formula, A is a substituted or an unsubstituted divalent hydrocarbon group; X is a polar group; Y is O, S, NR (R is H or an alkyl group), N<SB>2</SB>, CO, an ester bond or an amide bond: a is an integer of 1-10; and b is 0 or 1.
