摘要：<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a large-area optical functional layer having high uniformity and free from irregular thickness which largely exerts influence on outside appearance as an optical functional layer, and to provide its evaluating method and an optical element provided with the optical functional layer or an image display device using them. <P>SOLUTION: The optical functional layer consisting of a coating film layer formed by a manufacture method including a stage for coating a supporting body with a coating liquid containing resin material and a solvent and a stage for drying the applied coating liquid, is characterised in that the variance of the thickness of the coating film layer is equal to or under a specified value. It is good that a peak appears in a ≤20mm wavelength region or the ratio Pm/Pa of the average value Pa of peak intensity and the peak intensity Pm is equal to or under the specified value in the case of Fourier transforming the thickness distribution of the coating film layer. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
