摘要：<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst for exhaust gas purification which exhibits effective purification performance and exhibits high exhaust gas purification performance even in such a low temperature region as just after engine start. <P>SOLUTION: The catalyst for exhaust gas purification comprises a catalyst carrier base material, a carrier layer and a catalyst metal. The carrier layer contains cerium oxide and zirconium oxide or cerium-zirconium compound so as to contain 80 wt.% or more of the total amount of cerium oxide and zirconium oxide or the amount of cerium-zirconium compound with respect to the entire carrier layer taken as 100 wt.%. and further contains at least one kind selected from yttrium, lanthanum, iron and potassium. The catalyst for exhaust gas purification has cerium oxide having high O<SB>2</SB>storage ability on the carrier layer and, therefore, has excellent exhaust gas purification ability. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
