摘要：Apparatus and methods for applying straps (102) around a bundle of objects by applying a variable force to tension the strap around the bundle of objects and then actuating a series of cams (502) to control the sealing of the strap (102) around the bundle of objects. The strap (102) is bonded together by the insertion of a heating element (510) between the strap ends to activate the adhesive thereon. The strapping machine (100) for accomplishing the above method is configured with a feed and tension unit (400) configured to provide a simplified "V-shaped" strap path that reduces bending of the strap, reduces friction on the strap, and minimizes other strap feeding difficulties. The machine (100) is further comprised of a track assembly configured with a track channel (700) having a plurality of biased covers (708, 730). The covers (708, 730) are biased in a closed position until tension is applied to the strap, which forces the covers (708,730) to pivot open and release the strap around the bundle of objects. The machine (100) also is configured with a sealing head mechanism (500) with a series of cycloidal sequenced cams (502) for controlling the gripping, cutting, and sealing of the strap during the bundling operation.
