摘要：<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily reproduce a thumbnail image of a file recorded by another camera. <P>SOLUTION: This image expansion device has an expansion part for expanding compressed image data, a detection part, a calculation part, a replacement part and a transfer instruction part. The detection part detects an address of a start code indicating a staring position of an expanding operation of the image data in a memory. The calculation part calculates an address of a starting point of DMA transfer before the address of the start code. The replacement part replaces data between the start code and the starting point of DMA transfer in the memory with data for replacement. The transfer instruction part performs the DMA transfer of the data for replacement and the image data from the memory to the expansion part. Since reading of the data for replacement is skipped by the expansion part, it becomes equivalent to a fact that the leading address of SOI of the thumbnail image is transferred as the starting point of DMA transfer.
