摘要：PURPOSE: A mobile station using a specific menu as a standby screen and a method thereof are provided to designate a specific menu that a user wants to immediately use as a standby screen, without using a basic standby screen or a standby screen downloaded over the Internet, thereby immediately using the mobile station in an idle state. CONSTITUTION: A program memory(202) displays a standby screen setup menu such that a specific menu to be set to a standby screen is selected, and sets the selected specific menu to the standby screen if the specific menu is selected as the standby screen. A key input unit(204) has number/character buttons and menu selection buttons for executing a standby screen setup function. An LCD display(206) displays an operated state of a mobile station(200). A data storage(208) plays a data buffer role while executing an operational program of the mobile station(200), temporarily stores numbers, or stores state information on the specific menu in a certain region. A mode state storage(210) stores an operational mode as a state flag. A microprocessor(214) displays the standby screen setup menu such that the specific menu can be selected, and controls a function of setting the specific menu to the standby screen.
