摘要：PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a perpendicular magnetic recording medium in which thermal fluctuation tolerance and recording resolution are made high and medium noise is made less. SOLUTION: The medium is provided with a soft magnetic backing layer which is laminated on a substrate and a magnetic recording layer which has a first magnetic recording layer containing cobalt and a second perpendicular magnetic recording layer mainly containing a crystalline alloy containing a rare-earth element and a transition metal.
