摘要：PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To upgrade the convenience of selectively retaining and replacing refills of different materials, outside diameter and length, in a holder for a writing utensil. SOLUTION: The holder 1 for a writing utensil has a large diameter part 1d for holding a plastic refill 2 and a small diameter part 1h which is smaller in outside diameter than the former and holds a continuous-length stainless refill 3, provided behind the large diameter part 1d. The refill 3 is retained by the holder 1 in such a way that it is set backward from the refill 2. Since the overall lengths of both refills are almost the same, these refills 2 and 3 can be selectively fitted into the holder 1. In addition, the large diameter part 1d has four pieces of ribs 1e, while the small diameter part 1h has three pieces of ribs 1e. Consequently, the refills 2 and 3 are securely retained in such a manner that their respective materials meet the purpose. Besides, the refills 2 and 3 can be smoothly loaded and unloaded and the overall length of each of the refills 2 and 3 when fitted into the holder 1 for a writing utensil, is set to be almost the same as that of a refill for a ball-point pen of the Cross type as an international standard. Thus it is possible to carry out a mutual replacement of the three different types of the refill i.e., the refills 2 and 3 and the refill for a ball-point pen.
