摘要：PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device which has high luminance and by which brighter display can be obtained on the observer side. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device is provided with a light source 13, a light guide plate 12, a reflection layer 29 on which light emitted from the light guide plate is made incident and which reflects the emitted light, and a liquid crystal display panel 20 disposed opposite to the light guide plate. One side of a space on the surface of the light guide plate is directed to the observer side and the other side is directed to a light receiving side. The direction of the maximum light quantity of the emitted light emitted toward the liquid crystal display panel from an emitting surface 12b of the light guide plate is a direction inclined to the normal of the emitting surface of the light guide plate, the inclination direction is designed such that the front side of the emitted light comes closer to the observer side. A rugged part is formed on the reflection layer and the direction of the maximum light quantity of light reflected by the reflection layer is a direction inclined to the normal H of the surface of the liquid crystal display panel and inclined toward the observer side.
