摘要：A method of brokering a communication session between a manufacturing machine 203 and a support service 109 comprises sending a request for assistance 201 to a server 101, the server 101 matching 212 the request 201 with a previously received offer of assistance 205 and establishing a communications session between the two. Preferably the request and offer will incorporate an internet location address. In use the server will relay subsequent status information 204 and support information 207 between the machine and support service. In one embodiment the support staff may be provided with a virtual display of the manufacturing machine control panel (Fig 9). Preferably the method will use messages consistent with internet protocols, the messages being relayed using HTTP or HTTPS. Preferably the messages will not be restricted by security procedures such as internet firewalls.
