摘要:旋转磁鼓的媒体读写装置,如资料速率比标准记录速率低到实际记录资料速率N/X,则磁鼓转速保持不变,磁性媒体的行走速度减慢,控制磁头开关的顺序也改变。记录信息的速率是低于或等于实际记录资料速率N/X,实际速率是依据由标准资料记录速率N及媒体走速降速比1/X计算出的预测量N/X。磁头的开关顺序受媒体走速影响,设媒体标准走速是L/T,若媒体走速率为L/XT,则同一磁轨扫描X次,磁头的开关顺序需变为每隔X次开关一次。
主权项:1.一种使用旋转磁鼓元件控制信息传输率的方法,其特征在于包含下列步骤:(1)决定被记录于媒体上的原始信息的传输率;(2)根据原始信息传输率,去控制媒体的行进速度:(2.1)当原始信息传输率介于一记录速率N及比该记录速率N低的一个预设传输率之间时,并不改变媒体的行进速L/T,L代表磁带长度,T代表旋转磁鼓的旋转周期,而且(2.2)当原始信息传输率,低于该预设传输率时,则改变媒体的行进速度为原来的1/X倍,成为L/XT,X是大于1的整数,X的大小则是根据原始信息传输率与标准传输率相差多少而决定,其中磁头启动的次序是每隔X个磁头启动一次,若N=1则媒体的行进速度是不变的;以及(3)根据媒体的行进速度,在适当的时间,依序地启动旋转磁鼓上的磁头。
