摘要：PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an ink jet ink having excellent hue and enabling highly durable image to be formed by including a specific coloring matter. SOLUTION: This ink jet ink comprises coloring matter of formula I [wherein A is a coloring matter residue having absorption in the visible range and/or the infrared region; L is a bivalent linkage; B is a group inhibiting the fading of coloring matter and is e.g. a group of formula II (wherein R1 is H, an alkyl, an alkenyl or the like; R2 to R6 are each H or a nonmetal substituent and; X1 is O or the like) or the like; (q) is 1 or 2 and with proviso that A and/or B have/has at least one sulfonic acid group and/or carboxyl group]. The coloring matter of formula I preferably is coloring matter of formula III. The ink can be prepared by dissolving the coloring matter of formula I in an aqueous solvent. The coloring matter of formula I preferably is included in an amount of 0.2-10 pts.wt. based on 100 pts.wt. of the ink. The ink enables an image recording excellent in hue, lightfasteness and water resistance.
