摘要：PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture an ink jet recording paper with the capability of increasing the absorbing quality of ink without increasing the film thickness of an ink absorbing layer unnecessarily, achieving good raw preservation without mistaking the obverse for the reverse, and obtaining a touch of photograph at low cost. SOLUTION: The ink jet recording paper includes as an ink absorptive layer a void layer containing minute grains over the entire surface of a water absorptive support, and a coat layer consisting of a binder and a pigment on another surface, and a specular glossiness of 75 degrees by JIS Z8741 is higher in the ink absorptive surface side than in the coat layer surface. The minute grains are of an average grains diameter of 100 nm or lower; preferably, a cationic mordant is contained in the void layer. Also, the water absorptive support is preferable to be one having a thickness of 100 μm or more.
