摘要：PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject base oil excellent in anti-seizing properties and good in cleanliness, low exhaust smoke and biodegradability by containing an aliphatic monohydric alcohol having a specific structure. SOLUTION: This base oil for 2 cycle engines contains preferably >=20 wt.% of a 10-18C (un)saturated straight chain or branched aliphatic monohydric alcohol. As the aliphatic monohydric alcohol, oleyl alcohol is preferable and it is good to blend >=65 wt.% of the alcohol based on the whole base oil. Other base oil components can be blended in a range in which characteristics of the base oil are not reduced. The base oil components capable of being used together are those having 1.5-40 mm<2> /sec dynamic viscosity at 100 deg.C, but, when a high molecular weight polymer is used as a thickener, there is no limitation. The content of the other base oil components is preferably <=80 wt.%. When a component having 3 mm<2> /sec dynamic viscosity at 100 deg.C is used together, the content is preferably <=30 wt.%.
