摘要:A constructional system which can be configured as a toy or for modelling, or can be sealed up for the construction of exhibition stands and temporary bulidings for example, has node-defining connector elements having gripping sockets into which elongate struts can be received and locked off at selectable angular positions. The struts connect to the sockets via ball-and-socket type universal joints incorporated into locking members which are adapted to be screwed into the sockets and thereby to come under compression to lock the joint. Telescopically adjustable struts are disclosed, as are telescopically adjustable struts which can be set to a nominal length and then are capable of extension and/or contraction about their set length against a spring force. A pneumatic device is disclosed which co-operates with telescopic struts to provide a measurable and adjustable spring force. Components other than struts can also be connected to the connector elements which can be made to be interconnectable with other available construction systems such as LEGO<TM> and K'NEX<TM>.
