CONSTITUTION: A method for producing the functional food from the seed nuclei and sarcocarp of pickled umes comprises kneading the sarcocarp 3 the salt-reduced pickled umes 2 and the seed nuclei 4 contained in the seed shells 5, diluting the kneaded product with a proper amount of a rice vinegar 6, drying the diluted viscous solution, and subsequently processing the dried product into a powdery product 7 or a granular product 8.
